A General History of Greek Life at GMU
The Greek system at GMU began in 1970 with the local founding of the fraternities Tau Kappa Epsilon and Kappa Sigma, and the sorority Chi Omega. Since then, many more organizations have been founded and most still remain. The percentage of on-campus undergraduate students participating in Greek life here is comparable to that percentage at other campuses.
Information is currently being gathered to create a more extensive history, but we do have a basic listing of all Greek Organizations at GMU.
